POSITION TITLE: Irrigation and Holiday Lights Manager

JOB TYPE:  Full-time, Year Round

REPORTS TO:  Operations Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

This dual-role position is responsible for managing irrigation systems throughout the growing season and overseeing holiday lighting operations during the fall and winter months. The role requires technical expertise combined with project management skills to effectively lead teams, coordinate schedules, and maintain strong client communication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Irrigation Manager (Spring–Fall)

  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties.
  • Develop seasonal irrigation schedules to ensure optimal plant health and water efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot system issues (e.g., valves, controllers, wiring, heads) and ensure timely repairs.
  • Monitor inventory of irrigation parts and order supplies as needed.
  • Supervise and train irrigation technicians; ensure the team follows safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct site audits to ensure systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Coordinate with landscape and maintenance crews to avoid service conflicts.
  • Provide estimates and proposals for new systems or upgrades.

Holiday Lighting Manager (Fall–Winter)

  • Plan, schedule, and manage all holiday lighting installations and removals.
  • Order, inventory, and maintain lighting products and supplies.
  • Lead seasonal lighting crews, ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and to customer specifications.
  • Train new team members on installation best practices, safety, and customer service.
  • Communicate with clients to confirm designs, timelines, and expectations.
  • Handle service calls and repairs during the display season.
  • Coordinate storage and organization of lighting materials during off-season.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required

  1. Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
  2. Strong team leadership and project management skills
  3. Ability to manage multiple projects and adjust priorities seasonally
  4. Excellent communication and client service skills
  5. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  6. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends during peak seasons

Preferred:

  1. Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT)
  2. OSHA 10/30 Certification
  3. Electrical or low-voltage lighting experience
